Description

Handmade cotton paper, traditionally made using 100% cotton rag featuring a smooth surface texture. Available in A3, A4 & A5 paper packs wrapped in our INDIGO branded kraft paper. This listing is like our 250gsm Smooth Texture packs however this listing features new pack sizes.

The surface of the paper has been smoothed flat having been cold pressed a number of times through rollers. Please note that this process does not remove every undulation and detail from the paper (as witnessed through hot pressing) however when compared to our mid texture papers it is very much smooth in character. This reduction in surface texture lends itself to rendering more detailed and precise marks often required when producing botanic paintings and illustrations. It also aids work in pen, graphite and pencil when a more stable surface is required.

Containing 100% cotton rag this paper is naturally tough providing durability and support for many different applications. Highly suitable for watercolour and other painting techniques as well as a range of dry and soft media - for oil painting, the surface will need to be prepared with gesso. Works especially well with gouache and watercolour paint. Each sheet is individually handmade and features a natural fully deckled edge.

Created entirely by local artisans in Northern India using traditional paper-making methods.

It is important to note that natural variations in paper size, colour and shape will occur between sheets due to the handmade nature of the product; each sheet is totally unique!

Please Note: We do not recommend feeding this paper through a printer (laser/inkjet), this is as the paper is fibrous and could lead towards damage to the printer
